Losel Yauch is an American painter and textile artist. Throughout her work, Yauch tenderly explores the concept of absence and accepting the inevitability of death and obscurity. Through a cast of mundane objects, plaintive creatures, and anonymous landscapes, whether it is a rabbit, a wine glass, an empty chair, or a larger than life siren surrounded by slender frigates, each work invites the viewer into an unguarded moment, one where there is a solemn sense of waiting and contemplation. Despite this, Yauch’s subjects are playful and light in addition to being melancholic, sitting between weighty and whimsy.

Born and raised in New York City, Yauch moved to London to complete her BA at Central Saint Martins where she received the NewFutures Graduate Art Prize and the Central Saint Martins Deans Award upon graduating in 2022.
